How much does it hurt to have permanent teeth removed??

I have to have between 2-4 permanent teeth removed, and I%26#039;ve been putting it off for years! I just can%26#039;t stand the thought of all the pulling and pushing and cutting and the pain! I don%26#039;t know what to do! Can someone give me an honest answer about how it feels to have permanent teeth removed???

How much does it hurt to have permanent teeth removed??
You do know that they will give you something, right? If it really worries you that much, have the dentist put you to sleep. Then you won%26#039;t know that they are cutting, pulling, sewing in your mouth. When you wake up, it will be all over. Sure you%26#039;ll be sore...but they%26#039;ll give you good drugs for the pain.
Reply:I had two removed from he very back and its not that bad. They numb you up so you really don%26#039;t feel much. After you might be sore so they will prescribe you some painkillers.
Reply:I was asleep when they pulled my wisdom teeth, so I didn%26#039;t feel anything til night time when there was massive pain
Reply:you won%26#039;t feel a thing at the dentist he will give you lots of local anesthezia it it%26#039;s your wisdom teeth it may be impacted and that takes longer time and also it%26#039;s so weird to hear your teeth crack while it%26#039;s being pulling out! It%26#039;s usually sore few days after 2 to 3 days, Advil and Ibuprofen can take care of that! it sound way horrible and scary then it%26#039;s usually it%26#039;s! As a i said go to the good dentist and you won%26#039;t feel a thing
Reply:I am just like you, but recently I had to have a tooth pulled and I couldn%26#039;t believe how much dental procedures have changed over the years. It was over before I knew it. Now of course, make sure you get a good Dentist. Ask your friends and family for a referral.
Reply:i thought that someone did a chainsaw massacre on my mouth

she said she needed to slice my gum to get to the bone which she needed to drill off or something. it was awful. i need to lay off the sweets.
Reply:i had 2 wisdom teeth pulled today.i did not feel a thing...i means nothing and it went within seconds.(i was numb of course).

From friends and family(of course i called everybody before and ask there experience)and they said that if its infected that it will hurt more after.

I was soooo scared because everybody told be so much pain swelling etc.

and i`m sitting here and i feel so lucky that everything turned out good.

especially my one friend told me a story ..........i got nightmares from her story.

i hope with my story i can take some fear away from you.

Just remeber to listen to the instructions what your dentist will give you.

the first day just lay in your bed (can not do nothing wrong with that).

cool it cool it and cool it it will be ok!!!
Reply:It depends where you go. If you have good insurance or can afford a private dentist then it won%26#039;t hurt at all. I had 4 teeth removed before I got braces when I was 11 and I was unconscious. I woke up with a mouth full of blood and gauze but NO pain.

Since then, I haven%26#039;t had insurance and I had to have 2 pulled at a dental school (Beth Israel Hospital in NYC). I was conscious and they are not allowed to supply nitrous, only novocaine. It didn%26#039;t hurt as much as I thought it would but it was pretty stressful and awkward. When you%26#039;re conscious it%26#039;s only scary because you%26#039;re afraid they are going to slip and hurt you somehow. The dental students were unable to remove the tooth because the roots were too big. They called over a %26#039;real%26#039; dentist and he broke the tooth in half while trying to pull it out. I never actually felt any physical pain, only pressure and stress. I guess that%26#039;s what you get for $90.
