Sometimes when you permanent teeth come in, they have white stains on them. Do veneers hide these stains? How much does it usually cost to get veneers on? Do you need to replace veneers? Do they need to be checked regularly?
Sometimes when you permanent teeth come in...?
Sorry, but that first answer about veneers was silly. Veneers and lumineers are like false fingernails put on the teeth. Lumineers are just glued on, veneers require a bit of enamel reduction to put them on. But I don%26#039;t think you will have the need to go to drastic measures. And yes, you need to be careful with veneers. They can chip and you can get decay under them.
Your real question is about white stains on the teeth. Are they like white freckles in the enamel? If so, this is called hypo-calcification, or uneven calcification of the enamel. Sometimes, if it is minor, and after all the teeth erupt, you can have the color improved through a dual process of enamel microabrasion and bleaching.
Enamel microabrasion involved the dentist using a very abrasive polishing paste and removing the surface layer of enamel which contains the white spots and getting down to an even color. Then the teeth are bleached so that they are all even in color.
I think that%26#039;s what you really want to know is if your tooth color can be fixed. Another thing to consider, you don%26#039;t want to do any of these treatments until after you have braces, if you are going to need them.
Reply:veneers are expensive, and are pretty much like a substance that is painted over your teeth, making the color even, and making them stronger. That is all I really know about them.
